The Office of Public Affairs
Welcome to Public Affairs - the go-to, can-do team for high quality communications and results. Our job is to tell Rice's story by creating and deploying integrated communications strategies that help President David Leebron achieve his objectives for the university. With the launch of the Centennial Campaign and ongoing initiatives set forth under the Vision for the Second Century to make Rice one of the best private research universities in the world, that is no small task. But it is work we eagerly take on because this institution and the people who populate it are making a difference with what we teach, with the research discoveries we make and with the resulting knowledge and solutions we share.
On these pages, you'll find important links and contact information for our skilled teams in Creative Services, Government Relations, Marketing, Multicultural Community Relations, News and Media Relations and University Relations. You'll also find the latest news about Rice, the university's identity standards, our national media Web site, neighborhood news, the image library and online storefront, among other resources. If you have ideas and suggestions, please send them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Check out the Who Knew site while you're here, and send us your ideas. You just may find it featured on the rice.edu banner someday. And maybe you have a special story to share about Rice's Unconventional Wisdom. We want to hear from you.
Rice named Houston's marketer of the year in higher education
Image is everything. Luckily, Creative Services has the resources to help Rice's faculty and staff make a lasting impression. From graphic design to editorial assistance and photography, our staff brings the university's bright ideas to life.
From branding and message development to constructing an overall communication strategy, Marketing is ready to help. Rely on our experience constructing integrated communication programs to identify, create and deliver a plan that achieves your goals.
Government Relations generates support so that Rice's administration, faculty and students can change the world. By partnering with university leaders, our staff advances the strategic interests of Rice to government agencies and officials across the nation.
Multicultural Community Relations
At Rice, we seek to maintain a diverse community by building bridges on and off campus. In keeping with that spirit, Multicultural Community Relations aims to enhance relationships between Rice and minority communities.
News and Media Relations
We all have a story to tell. The challenge is telling that story in an information-saturated world. By crafting the university's message and sharing it with a directory of media contacts, we push Rice's knowledge, ideas and innovations into the world.
Being a good neighbor - that's our commitment to Rice and Houston. From campus tours to managing relationships with our neighbors, we keep the lines of communication open between the university and its surrounding community.
The world is now digital, and we're here to help. From website development and remodeling to social media and site analytics, our team brings Rice University to the forefront of the virtual frontier.
